Hair Caught in Drain
Question:
My bathroom drain is slow but I cannot get the stopper up to see if
hair is wrapped up somehow. Is it attached somewhere down the drain?
Answer:
The pop up plug in the sink can be removed. Under the sink there is a
rod attached to the pull up rod on the faucet. Where the rod enters the
drain to actuate the pop up, remove the connecting nut with a pair of
pliers and slide it our. The pop up plug can now removed and cleaned.
With lavatory sinks the most common area of stoppage is hair collecting
around this plug.
